Rajdhani Express trains were introduced in the year 1969 for providing high-speed connections up to 140 kilometers speed from New Delhi to the various state capital cities of India. It halts at Cuttack, Bhadrakh, Balasore, Kharagpur, Bankura, Adra Junction, Koderma, Gaya, Mughal sarai, Kanpur stations in the course of its journey from both ends.
