Mumbai Airport to Dadar

The Mumbai Airport, which was earlier bifurcated in the Sahar Airport for international transit and Santa Cruz Airport for domestic transit, is now merged into what is called as the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport (CSIA). The Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport is India’s and South Asia’s largest and most crucial aviation hub in terms of passenger as well as cargo traffic. It is connected to most of the major cities on the globe with a plethora of passenger, cargo and charter airlines operating on a regular basis. On the other hand, Dadar is a highly sought after residential and commercial hub in the city of Mumbai. The Dadar railway station is the only common railway station on both the Central and the Western railway lines. This makes it a crucial transit point for thousands of commuters using the Mumbai Suburban Railway, and one of the busiest railway stations on the network. Due to its central location in a city with a predominantly vertical travel and commuting infrastructure, most other parts of the metropolis are easily accessible from Dadar.

The Distance between Mumbai Airport and Dadar

According to conservative estimates, the maximum distance from the Chattrapati Shivaji International Airport to Dadar is 17 kilometers, i.e. 10.56 miles.

There is no direct train service from the Mumbai Airport to Dadar. From the airport the traveler has to take a train to Dadar from the nearest suburban railway station. That would be Andheri, Ville Parle or the Santa Cruz railway station depending on whether you are travelling from the International transit airport or the domestic transit facility.  Modes of transport are either the auto rickshaw (not advised if you are traveling with a lot of luggage or the number of travelers is more than 3) or the taxi. From any of these three stations you can hop on a local train to Dadar. It will take around 15 to 20 minutes for the train to reach the Dadar suburban railway station.

A word of caution though. Dadar is probably the most crowded railway station on the Mumbai suburban railway service after the Chattrapati Shivaji Terminus.
