Delhi Mathura by road
Mathura is situated between New Delhi and Agra on National Highway number 2. New Delhi to Mathura distance is around 150 kilometers and Agra is another 50 kilometers from Mathura. Mathura is connected to all the major cities of India, via a large network of the National Highways.
Mathura is well connected to New Delhi, and all major cities by road.
It is linked by the regular state bus services of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Haryana.
There are two bus stations in Mathura the old one and the new one. The old one caters to buses going towards Agra and Gowardhan ( 25 Kms from Mathura), while the new one mainly caters to buses going towards Delhi and Jaipur
From New Delhi buses leave at every half an hour for Mathura from Sarai Kale Khan bus terminus.
Delhi Agra Mathura one day tour
Many tour operators have Delhi to Agra Mathura one day tours by AC Volvo and deluxe buses. It is a hectic tour which starts at 6 AM and finish at 10 PM. Total about 500 Kms are covered in a single day. You would spend close to twelve hours travelling to and fro including the stopovers for Breakfast, dinner etc and you get to spend very little time to see Taj Mahal, Agra fort, Mathura etc.
The price range is in between RS 600 to 900 depending upon the services offered.

Delhi to Agra ( 200 Kms), Agra fort Taj Mahal, Sikandra, Mathura and back to Delhi

Delhi Mathura by train
Situated on the Delhi-Bombay main lines, it is well connected by railways to all major cities. Mathura is an important railway junction with direct trains to many places.
Taj Express is a popular train which travels regularly from Delhi to Mathura. It leaves Nizamuddin Railway Station in New Delhi at 07:10 hours and arrives in Mathura at 09:08 hours. On return, train leaves Mathura at 19:50 hours and reaches Nizamuddin Railway Station at 2205 hours.
There is less quota in other long distance trains, so this is the preferred one as it goes up to Jhansi only
