Rajdhani Express trains were introduced in the year 1969 for providing high-speed connections up to 140 kilometers speed from New Delhi to the various state capital cities of India. The speed varies depending upon the particular track section. This class of train has very limited stoppages along its journey. This also was the first group of trains with all its coaches being air-conditioned. These trains get the highest priority on the Indian railway network. Passengers are served complimentary meals during the journey. Depending on the duration and timings of the journey, these could include lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner, morning tea and breakfast.
Mumbai central to New Delhi (Hazrat Nizamuddin) August Kranti Rajdhani Express is one of the earliest Rajdhani trains introduced in India. It runs on all seven days of the week. It halts at Andheri, Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Ratlam, Nagda, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Mathura stations in the course of its journey from both ends. This train was introduced to increase and augment the passenger intake capacity in the Mumbai New Delhi Rajdhani Train, since there was huge demand supply gap in the first train namely Mumbai New Delhi Rajdhani Express.
