Vaishno Devi Katra Helicopter services

For the convenience of the pilgrims the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine board has made arrangements for helicopter services from Katra to Vaishno Devi Bhawan.helicopter-clip

The helipad at Katra is on the Katra Udhampur highway about two kilometers from the city centre and the helipad at Vaishno Devi is at Sanji Chatt. The shrine from Sanjichat is about two and a half kilometers away but the walk is convenient and mostly level walk. The walk time is around 45 minutes to one hour. Ponies and palkis are also easily available for the Bhawan from the helipad for further convenience.

There are two helicopter operators the Pawan Hans helicopters limited and Deccan Aviation Limited. The flight time is about six minutes and the helicopter carries six passengers at a time. Both helicopter operators work in rotation simultaneously

Important points to note

  • Flights are operated daily
  • The Katra Vaishno Devi helicopter flights operate in the daytime only 8:00 am to 6:00 PM.
  • Flights operate in clear weather only, not in rainy season.

Katra –Vaishnodevi (Sanjhichat) or Sanjhichat -Katra one-way helicopter ride

Adults Rs: 1,225

Children between 2-12 years: Rs 610

Katra-Sanjichhat ( Vaishnodevi)-Katra (return helicopter flight)

Adults Rs: 2,450 per person.

Children between 2-12 years: Rs 1,220

Infants up to 2 years can fly free, age proof is required if age is disputed by the helicopter service provider.
